A MAN has been fined and told to stay away from a woman who he repeatedly sent unwanted messages to and threatened.
Gordon Stewart was convicted of two charges including engaging in a course of conduct which caused the victim fear or alarm.
The 34-year-old was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on March 2.
On September 9 and November 16, 2021, at an address in Cunninghame Crescent, Saltcoats and elsewhere, Stewart repeatedly sent the woman unwanted social media messages and unwanted text messages in which he repeatedly swore, asked her to meet him and enquired about her personal life.
The charge added that he phoned her and left her voice messages in which he repeatedly uttered threatening remarks.
He also sent her current partner social media messages and texts and phoned him, as well as monitored the woman's movements and drove past her home address.
Court papers stated the offence was aggravated by involving abuse of his partner or ex partner.
A second charge stated that on November 16, 2021 at Mariners View in Ardrossan, Stewart had in his possession extreme pornographic images depicting in an explicit and realistic way sexual activity between a person and an animal.
At a court hearing last week, Stewart - of French Street in Dalmarnock, Glasgow - was fined £4,175 and a non-harassment order was imposed meaning he must not contact or communicate with the victim for a year.
