A MAN has been barred from a Dalry store after assaulting a shopworker and threatening cops on Valentine's Day.

Michael Watson faced four charges and pleaded guilty to them all at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

The 30-year-old admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive and intimidating manner towards a woman at the Co-op in New Street on February 14 this year.

Watson, of Burnhouse Avenue in the town, assaulted an employee at the shop by pushing him on the body during the disturbance, and accepted a similar charge involving a woman at the store.

During the course of a journey from Dalry to Ayr police office he also shouted, swore, uttered offensive remarks and uttered threats of violence towards police officers.

The March 9 court hearing was told that Watson is currently subject to a community payback order imposed in January for a separate offence.

In relation to the latest incident, he was bailed and told not to enter the Co-op.

The case was adjourned for the preparation of background reports until the beginning of April.
