A bus driver accused of making indecent sexual comments to girls traveling to a North Ayrshire secondary school has been warned to have no unsupervised contact with children - amid claims he played a rude Christmas song.

Patrick Williams, 61, faces two charges of making inappropriate sexual comments to two young girls and a charge of breaching the peace.

He denies both charges.

Court papers claim the accused, of High Road, Saltcoats, conducted himself in a disorderly manner while employed as a bus driver and conveying school children attending Largs Academy on November 15 last year.

It's claimed he played inappropriate Christmas music containing sexually explicit lyrics in Skelmorlie Castle Road and elsewhere.

It's also claimed he made indecent sexual remarks to girls aged 12 and 13 on January 27 this year, allegedly for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming the complainers.

The accused, who was represented by defence solicitor Peter Murray, pleaded not guilty when his case called at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 30.

Bail was granted with conditions prohibiting him from having any unsupervised contact of any kind with a child, other than that which is inadvertent and not easily avoided.

He will return to court to face the allegations at a later date.
