BOXERS from the IMC Project gym in Saltcoats once again put their talents on display in a bid to raise funds.

Members of the Saltcoats club, which is run by councillor Jim Montgomerie, put on their second ever show last week as they looked to raise more cash for their trip to Mount Everest's base camp.

Spurred on in the knowledge that the trip is now booked for 2024 - the talented youngsters put on quite the show at the Ardrossan Civic Centre.

Nine bouts were held throughout the evening - entertaining the packed out crowd in the Three Towns venue.

Boxers came from across Scotland to take part in the show, as well as boxers from other Ayrshire clubs  and home boxers from the IMC gym.

Jim Montgomerie was delighted with how the event turned out.

He told the Herald: "All the boys done extremely well. They have all been working hard and it really paid off for them all."

At the end of the evening, the Jimmy Hamilton belt for the best home boxer was handed out. Jimmy was organiser Jim Montgomerie's first boxing coach, and the prize was awarded to Marley Johnson.
