The Royal British Legion Scotland's Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston branch commemorated VE Day in a ceremony in Saltcoats this week.
They gathered in the rain at the Saltcoats War Memorial on Monday, May 8, to mark 78 years since the end of World War II.

Legion president Paul Coffey told the Herald: "It had been a busy time for the Three Towns RBLS over the Coronation weekend but we still managed to commemorate 78 years since the nation saw peace in Europe.
"However the final end of WWII did not come until August 1945, when hostilities with Japan came to an end.
"Thank you to all that managed to participate in a rather wet service."
