CALMAC has confirmed the new timetable for MV Alfred on the Ardrossan to Arran route.

It follows a successful familiarisation period for the ferry over the last few weeks.

Scottish ministers chartered the MV Alfred for nine months at a cost of £9million in a bid to ease the growing ferry crisis in Scotland.

The following timetable for the catamaran will operate until Thursday, June 29:

Friday – Monday
Depart Ardrossan - 08:00, 11:30 and 16:15
Depart Brodick - 09:45, 13:15 and 18:00

Tuesday – Thursday
Depart Ardrossan - 08:00 and 16:15
Depart Brodick - 09:45 and 18:00

CalMac has advised that all passengers will require to access the vessel via her ramp.

The passenger lift from the car deck is currently unavailable due to a technical issue, although a stair climber is available.

Passengers who would prefer to use a lift are advised to travel on MV Caledonian Isles. No retail offering will be available onboard.

When travelling on sailings operated by MV Alfred vehicle occupants must be prepared to leave their vehicles as soon as they are parked on board.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald:

MV Caledonian Isles will continue to operate to timetable. MV Isle of Arran continues to operate on Islay whilst MV Finlaggan completes an annual overhaul.

Existing MV Isle of Arran bookings during this period will be migrated to Alfred sailings and will be contacted by us directly in due course.

The service will continue to operate on a non-bookable basis for all other passengers and vehicles.

CalMac added: "Vessel deployment plans beyond June 29 will remain under review based on the wider network needs."
