A KIND-HEARTED Saltcoats teenager had her long locks sheared to give a helping hand to seriously ill children.
Rebecca Stevenson, 16, donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for youngsters suffering from cancer.
The teenager, who is a Lance Corporal in the Army Cadets, didn't want to make a fuss, but her proud family were delighted to take pictures of the big chop on Friday, May 26.
Mum Michelle said: "It was a late decision and the fund-raising was only set up the morning of the cut but she has raised £290 of her £500 target so far.
"We are so proud of her and would like to thank Charles Alexander and staff for doing the cut for free and donating the money that would have been used for the cut to the charity.
"We think she Rebecca deserves all the praise in the world."
Congratulations to Rebecca for her fund-raising effort from all at the Herald.
