A BODY has been found in the search for a man reported missing from the Isle of Arran.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of Mariusz Robert Batyra, age 49, who had been reported missing from the area has been made aware.

The body was found on the Lamlash area of the island shortly after 2.30pm today, Friday July 7.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and that a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man has been found in the Lamlash area on the Isle of Arran.

"He is yet to be formally identified. However, the family of Mariusz Robert Batyra, 49, who had been reported missing in the area has been made aware.

"The body was found shortly after 2.30pm on Friday, July 7.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
