A PERFORMANCE that "aims to increase the world's supply of joy" is coming to West Kilbride this week.

Local organisation Vertex is bringing the 'Happiness Collectors' show to West Kilbride Village Hall on Thursday, July 13.

Happiness Collectors is described as "a fusion of physical theatre and audio-immersive storytelling for family audiences".

Each audience member experiences the show through a set of wireless headphones, guided by their very own Happiness Collector Instructor, SAM, aka Special Agent M.

Chris Maughan, of Vertex, said: "The show is perfect for families seeking to find happiness in the holidays but also for adults who want to explore how they can rediscover their own vein of Happiness (if they need to)."

Chris says Scottish theatre producers have taken this show all over Scotland - and everywhere it has played the audiences confirm that the show does precisely what it says.

The production team are the Audio Story Company, originally commissioned by Tron Theatre, in association with The Ayr Gaiety. The show is produced by the Scottish Theatre Producers organisation, with support from Creative Scotland.

Vertex is an independent organisation run by local volunteers to strengthen community engagenement and promote and encourage interest in culture and the arts.

It is financially supported by a wide variety of groups including the West Kilbride Community Trust, North Ayrshire Council, the Cooperative Society, and the May Lockhart Foundation.

There are two performances on Thursday, each lasting for 45 minutes - but the audience size is limited to 25 people for each performance, so don't delay if you want to be sure of your place.

Tickets cost just £2 - and the price of admission includes a refreshment.

The first performance runs from 11am to 11.45am and the second from 12.30pm to 1.15pm.

Tickets are available online in advance from bit.ly/wkhappinesscollectors - and any unsold places will be available from the Village Hall on the day.
