Predicted downpours have led to this Friday's KA: Leisure Fun Day at Eglinton Park being postponed.

The event, due to be held on the July 14, will now take place on Friday, August 4.

It will offer multi sports, bouncy castles, a portable pitch, play activities and visits from local sports clubs.

A KA:Leisure spokesperson confirmed on Twitter today (Wednesday): "We regret to inform you that the Fun Day at Eglinton Park, scheduled for Friday, July 14, has been postponed.

"The recent bad weather and forecasted rain for the day itself have left us with no other option but to reschedule the event until Friday, August 4.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: Summer fun in the park

"We understand that this news may be disappointing for those who were looking forward to spending a day of fun and laughter with family and friends.

"However, we don't want you to get soaked, catch a cold, or slip on a puddle while trying to enjoy yourself.

"We also don't want our fun activities to get ruined by the rain, like the bouncy castles, music and art activities, multi-sports, fun games and face painting.

"Postponing the event will allow you to enjoy our event along with everything else Eglinton Park has to offer."

There will be a second fun day at the park on Saturday, August 12.
