AN ARDROSSAN-born football star has been making moves in the market this summer.

But  for local lad Billy Gilmour it seems to be the property market in which he's interested, rather than the transfer market.

Reports in the Scottish Sun earlier this week suggest that the Brighton and Hove Albion star has been snapping up homes in Stevenston - on a street which shares his name.

They state that the midfielder has bought two neighbouring semi-detached homes on the town's Gilmour Wynd.

But rather than the properties being for himself, they look to be an investment for a company set up by the former Rangers kid.

Billy, 22, set up BGil Property Ltd back in 2020. It is understood the company was set up to buy homes, make improvements to them, and then sell them on for profit.

The company was set up alongside his father Billy senior, with the pair both listed as directors.

Records show that the company now has assets to the value of £345,100.

While the properties are located on a street he shares a name with, there is no suggestion this could be the reason he choose to purchase them.

But who knows, perhaps one day he may actually have a street named after him here in the Three Towns.
