A STEVENSTON pair have rejected claims that they assaulted a boy aged just 11.

Both Alana Hutchison, 48, and Lauren Brodie, 27, pleaded not guilty to charges relating to an alleged incident earlier this year when their case called at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

It has been claimed that the pair, who are both from Stevenston, assaulted an 11-year-old boy in the town on April 23 of this year.

The charge relating to Ms Brodie alleges that she assaulted the child by repeatedly striking him on the head with her hand, seizing him on the body, pushing him on the body and that she pinned him against railings.

Ms Brodie has denied that this is what happened.

The second charge, in relation to Ms Hutchison, claims that she assaulted the same child by seizing and pushing him on the body, as well as pinning him against railings.

Ms Hutchison has also rejected the claims.

After denying the allegations, the pair are now set to go to trial, and will return to Kilmarnock Sheriff Court later this year.
