Kilwinning is set for a bumper Christmas this year with a revamped version of the festive light switch-on and new events added to the town calendar.

This year Choose Kilwinning has announced three events for the festive session:

Kilwinning’s Christmas Festival (November 25, Main St, Kilwinning).

This event will look different from previous years. It will feature everything from Santa and his reindeer to one of Ayrshire’s largest Christmas markets, with over 50 stalls from crafters and businesses.

The Light-up festival promises to be an afternoon of fun, with the Christmas lights coming on at 5pm.

The Holly Jolly Christmas Concert (December 7, Kilwinning Abbey Church).

The Kilwinning Festive Dash (December 10, McGavin Park, Kilwinning).

The dash will be a great opportunity to have some fun in the run-up to the big day while helping Choose Kilwinning raise vital funds to support its work going into 2024. So, grab your friends and family, no matter if you are a regular runner or will dance your way around the park.

These events will bring the community together in the run up to the big day. Details of all the events can be found on the group’s facebook page - Facebook.com/ChooseKilwinning.

When asked about the announcement, chair of Choose Kilwinning Aaran McDonald said: “I’m really proud of our committee who have been involved in organising this year’s festive events.

"This is our first year as Choose Kilwinning taking responsibility for the festive events and we wanted to go BIG.

"From our Christmas Light-up festival which will also be one of Ayrshire’s largest Christmas markets to our Holly Jolly Christmas Concert, there is really something for everyone.”

“My main message to the people of Kilwinning and in-fact everyone would be - come along and join us at all the events and have a great time - now more than ever we need opportunities to come together and have a good time.”
