AS CHILDREN returned to school across North Ayrshire this week, the Beith Trust have been looking back on what was a summer holiday to remember.

From summer camps to massive haybale mazes, there was fun for all in the Garnock Valley town throughout the school break.

One of the final events this year was once which perhaps showed best the impact that they had this summer.

On Wednesday, August 2, the Beith Community Development Trust hosted a National Playday event which brought people in from near and far.

A turnout of aroun 750 participants saw the event hailed a resounding success and there were countless happy faces and tired-out little ones by the end of the day.

Families and friends gathered in their events field to indulge in a day filled with music, arts and crafts, and a captivating haybale maze that left children and adults alike delighted.

Though it wasn't just one-off events for the Trust, who also provided plenty of fun for the kids through their six-week summer camps held at the Beith astroturf.

A spokesperson for the Trust said: "Throughout the camp's duration, children embarked on an exciting journey of discovery, exploration, and imagination.

"They engaged in a diverse range of activities, from hands-on arts and crafts to educational workshops and sports activities that ignited their curiosity.

The dedicated and passionate team of summer camp workers and volunteers ensured that each child's summer was filled with laughter, learning, and lasting friendships.

"The camp not only provided a safe and supportive environment for personal development but also left an indelible impact on the lives of the young participants."

While they also looked to thank all those who made the camps possible.

The spokesperson continued: "As the days grow shorter and a new season beckons, we express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the resounding success of our summer activities.

"The unwavering support of our community, the dedication of our volunteers, and the enthusiasm of our participants have made this summer an unforgettable chapter in our organisation's journey."
