Dance Mafia from Saltcoats can now boast an amazing FOUR world champions after their incredible success in Blackpool at the weekend.
And they also claimed a world runner up at the Udo Street Dance Championships, which featured 8,000 young dancers from 35 countries.
A Dance Mafia spokesperson said this week: “Can you actually believe it? A wee dance school fae the Three Toons putting Scotland on the world map!”
Dance Mafia’s Aria McCart won her second world title in a row in the Inter under 8 championships.
Abbie Wilson won the Under 8 novice world titles – and together with Aria, won the U8 inter World Championships.
Violet and Zara were declared U12 beginners world champions in the duo section.
Meanwhile, the primary school aged Maniacs from Dance Mafia were runners up in their section - as seen in our video above.
Other winners included: Mirren and Lacie Leigh under 12 duo novice third place.
Alea Jay and Leon under 12 duo inter fourth place.
Bonnie Dewhirst under 14 beginner third place
Eva Arnold under 8 Novice fifrth in the world
And Dance Mafia’s under 10 team Lil Gs also made the top 10 in their section.
Dance Mafia’s Amyleigh Cavanagh told the Herald: “ To even make it to the finals is an unbelievably massive achievement as it is.
“The kids have worked all year for this and we were honoured and excited to represent Scotland and show the world what we are made of.
“Six years ago I attended my first world championships and I dreamed that one day I would have my own dancers in the world championships final as I watched the best of the best from around the world.
“And to see my own dancers dancing on the world stage and winning these titles is more than a dream come true.”
