Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: Castle digA TIME team of local volunteers showed up to do a bit of digging around at Ardrossan in September 2013. Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society in partnership with North Ayrshire Council and commercial archaeologists Rathmell Archaeology, were carrying out test digs on Cannon Hill.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: FireMEMBERS of the local community flocked to Ardrossan Community Fire Station on a sunny Saturday in September 2013 to attend the firefighters' bi-annual charity car wash. Local fire crews were joined by a team from Simpsinns Hotels and Restaurants and some additional volunteers to wash the cars while accepting donations from the public.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: CraftTHE Community Craft Shop in Ardrossan was officially opened by Provost Joan Sturgeon in September 2013. The shop sold local crafts and home baking with profits going to support the community work of the Church of the Nazarene including their food bank.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: St Luke'sSt Luke’s Primary School in Kilwinning was filled with witches, foxes and green-haired Oompa Loompa’s in September 2013k. No not Hallowe’en come early, but a celebration of the birthday of Roald Dahl the author of the dark but hugely popular children’s books.
