UPDATE: Police have now confirmed that Connor Kane has been traced safe and well.

POLICE in Ayrshire are appealing for assistance to trace a man reported missing from Ardrossan.

Connor Kane, 24, was last seen in the Sweeney Court area of the town at around 3.30pm on Thursday, September 14.

And as it approaches nearly 24 hours without a sighting officers are now urging anyone with information to come forward.

Connor has a number of links to the Three Towns, but also has connections to Johnstone and Paisley, East Renfrewshire.

When last seen he was in the company of two male friends, though no further description of those two friends has been provided.

Connor himself is described as white, around 5ft 7in tall, with brown eyes and shaven hair.

Police say he may be noted to have bags under his eyes, as well as superficial scratches to his face following a recent bicycle accident.

When he was last seen he was known to be wearing a grey tracksuit and a thin, black jacket.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "If anyone has seen Connor or has any information or knowledge about his whereabouts, please get in touch with police on 101."
