Primary 4/3 at St John’s in Stevenston were learning about the Childline charity and how it operated back in 2003. These pupils learned about safe cooking techniques.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: Academy

Ardrossan Academy’s main building reached the grand old age of 70 in October 2003. Pupils marked the occasion with a display of photographs featuring former pupils. Barrie Sillars and Robin Kelso are pictured with the display that they put together to mark this auspicious occasion in the life of the school.

Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: Young bookworms completed a reading challenge at Ardrossan Library

Hundreds young bookworms received medals and certificates at Ardrossan Library after completing the third annual North Ayrshire Summer Reading Scheme. Local five to 12-year-olds had to work their way through six books in six weeks during the summer hols.

Garnock Academy S1 pupil Kirsty Williamson scooped the North Ayrshire Young Chorister of the Year accolade in 2003.

Abbey Nursery’s own Groundforce team – Adam Croll, Courtney McCabe and Charlie Stevenson - were out and about sprucing up the school grounds in 2003.
