A MAN who was caught stealing from a car in Ardrossan after being found with a controlled drug has been locked up.
Robert Beattie was remanded in custody after pleading guilty to two offences at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court - committed almost five months apart.
The 37-year-old, of no fixed abode, admitted being found in possession of the heroin substitute methadone in Barrie Terrace on May 25.
He also pleaded guilty to entering an insecure motor vehicle at Seafield Court on October 18, when he stole bank cards, a bag, documentation and electronic items.
Sentence was deferred to a later date, but an application for bail was refused and Beattie was remanded in custory.
