Seven-year-old Three Towns dance sensation Aria McCart has won the Strictly Kids UK competition.

The Saltcoats youngster gave an amazing performance alongside her partner Kyro McClaffery to take the title in Glasgow's Hilton Hotel at the weekend.

Celebrity judges picked the pair as the winners out of 19 teams in the grand final of the competition.

Stanley Primary pupil Aria and Kyro, from Clydebank, dazzled the crowd doing the jive - a completely new style to both dancers.

They got a perfect score and standing ovation from all three judges, Strictly Come Dancing choreographer Eddie Slattery, charity ambassador Lisa Hague and dancer Cheryl Wright.

Aria and Kyro were two of the youngest in the competition - and got the highest score.

Aria also raised an amazing £400 for the her chosen charity The Miracle Foundation, which is a bereavement charity for kids who have lost a close family member.

It is a charity Aria's mum Amyleigh Cavanagh said is "very close to our heart" after recently seeing what they do for families and the difference it makes in children, through the love and support they get.

She added: "We hope to raise as much money as possible to help this amazing charity continue to help and support these families.
