A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault in Saltcoats earlier this month.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, November 11, in The Braes area of the town.
It is understood that a cordon was set up around the street on Saltcoats shore front for several hours following the incident.
Police had earlier launched an appeal following the assault of a 35-year-old woman, who cops said was not seriously injured but was left "extremely shaken" by the ordeal.
Following this appeal, a 26-year-old man has now been arrested and charged.
Detective Inspector Fraser Spence added: “We would like to thank all members of the public for their assistance at the incident.”
