The Rotary Club of Hunterston is about to relaunch its Community Awards Scheme and are inviting applications from groups and individuals seeking funding through its popular programme.

The scheme, which will begin early in 2024, will make an award of £200 every two months of the year, is targeted to benefit clubs, organisations or individuals working with children, teenagers, elderly, vulnerable or disabled people in Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston, West Kilbride, Fairlie or Largs.

Announcing the scheme, which will be launched on January 1, Hunterston Rotary Club President, Alex Blair said: “We are delighted to be able to bring back this popular source of funding for local groups and individuals.

“Over a number of years, the club has donated thousands of pounds to local organisations on a discretionary basis thereby increasing Rotary’s commitment to serving the local community.”

Applications, which should be submitted from January 1, 2024 will be reviewed by the members of the Hunterston Rotary Club each month of next year and the names of those who will each receive the £200 award will be announced here and on social media.
