More than 300 people attended a Christmas Carol Concert at Ardrossan's EU Congragational Church on Thursday evening.

The free event was a showcase of local talent with kids from Stanley, St Peter's and St Anthony's primary schools as well Ardrossan, Auchenharvie and Irvine Royal academies all performing.

The concert was held in partnership with Ardrossan girl Amy Palmer, who is currently studying music at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow.

The Rev Janice E Andrews said: "What an amazing night we enjoyed, with over 300 people attending the event.   

"Our retiring collection raised £558 and £300 of this will be given to CHASs supporting children across Scotland with cancer.

"Another £258 has now been handed in to the Cafe at the Station in Saltcoats. This local business opens its doors on Christmas day welcoming anyone on their own, all free of charge. 

"It is a privilege to support the great work that they do."
