Meet some of the stars of Ardrossan’s Stanley Primary Nativity play in 2003. The wee ones were in great form for their big day.

A colourful group of friends arrived at a Kilbirnie nursery in December 2003 to teach the youngsters about taking care near railways. Organised by the British Transport Police, the visit to St Bridget’s saw Bertie the Panda and his friends Lenny, Croc, Freida and Monkey tell the children about safety issues in a fun educational way.

Doctor Who – the Pantomime was staged by pupils at Dalry Primary School in 2003. It was a sci fi take on panto, but still had room for more traditional figures such as Prince Charming and Cinderella, played by Nathan Wafer and Lauren McKinna.

Primary six pupils at Winton PS in Ardrossan raised £100 for the Special Baby Care Unit at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine in December 2003. Pupils Gemma Seaton (left) and Savannah Lundie (right) are pictured handing over a cheque to Joy Murdoch, a sister on the unit.

Santa welcomed the children from Beith Primary School Nursery to the 2003 Woodside Grotto.

Pupils and staff of James McFarlane Primary School in Ardrossan were presented with a cake from Safeway in 2003 after a customer of the Saltcoats store won their “Guess The Weight” contest for Cash for Kids. Prizewinner Margaret Hall joined the school’s headteacher Cherie Gargan and Jackie Hamilton and Jackie Brown from Safeway to receive two hampers full of goodies for correctly guessing the weight of the 10 kilogram tasty treat.
