A North Ayrshire pub has had it's licence suspended for failing to pay annual fees.

Revels Limited of Main Street, Kilwinning came before North Ayrshire licensing board over the matter of unpaid fees on Monday.

A licensing board official at the meeting confirmed that the business had not paid the dues to keep the licence alive.

This was despite every effort being made by officials in order to try and recover the money.

Irvine East Councillor Nairn McDonald proposed suspending the licence for 12 months and this was agreed unanimously by the board members.

However, should the fees be paid in the interim by the businesses, then the ban would be lifted.
