The Rotary Club of Hunterston is inviting applications for its relaunched Community Awards Scheme.

Successful local groups and individuals will receive an award of £200 every two months for the next year.

The scheme is aimed at clubs, organisations and individuals working with children, teenagers, elderly, vulnerable or disabled people in Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston, West Kilbride, Fairlie or Largs.

Alex Blair, president of Hunterston Rotary Club, said: "We are delighted to be able to bring back this popular source of funding for local groups and individuals.

"Over a number of years, the club has donated thousands of pounds to local organisations on a discretionary basis thereby increasing Rotary's commitment to serving the local community."

Guidance on the rules of the award scheme and a simple application form are available on the club's website at www.hunterstonrotary.org.uk.

Forms are also available from club secretary Jim Morton by emailing mortonsj2@yahoo.co.uk or calling 07748 694 373.

Applications will be reviewed by the members of the Hunterston Rotary Club every two months this year.
