A community group is seeking views and opinions on how Saltcoats Harbour can be improved.

The Saltcoats Outdoor Pool Group (SPLASH) are hoping that the iconic shorefront location can be transformed into a "great community resource."

The group - who are behind the master plan to relaunch the town's outdoor pool - said they already have some ideas in mind but would love to hear what local people have to say.

An online forum has been launched to allow a consultation to be completed before the plans move forward.

The online platform states: "Sadly, Saltcoats Harbour has been neglected for many years. However, with a bit of imagination and some initial investment, the harbour has the potential to be a great community resource and place to visit.

"We're looking for your views and ideas on what we can do to regenerate our beautiful harbour area.

"We have some ideas and have provided a range of images to show them. But this is just to start the conversation.

"We would love to hear what you think and for you to share your thoughts and comments on how to make the best of Saltcoats Harbour."

A total of 10 questions are included in the online survey and they touch upon some of the ideas that SPLASH has previously discussed.

These include making use of the former customs' house, the introduction of activities at the harbour, acknowledging local heritage on site and making the area more welcoming.

Anyone wishing to have their say can do so online at tinyurl.com/SaltcoatsHarbour.
