A pair of thieves have been ordered to pay £100 in compensation after repeatedly targeting Co-op stores in the Garnock Valley.

Gary Evans, 33, and Shani-Lee Lusk, 28, pleaded guilty to a total of nine charges between them of stealing food from the Co-operative Food stores in Dalry and Beith.

Evans admitted nine charges of theft from the stores in November and December last year, while Lusk pleaded guilty to two similar accusations.

Lusk was out on bail at the time of both her crimes.

The pair, who both live in Merksworth Avenue, Dalry, had their pleas of not guilty to a number of other thefts from the same shops accepted by the Crown.

At a hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, they were ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
