Ayrshire CND have organised an information event as part of a bid to remove nuclear weapons from the River Clyde.

Members are supporting a campaign started by Glasgow CND to make the river and the the communities connected to it a cleaner place to live, work and play.

The information event takes place on Monday, February 12 at 7pm in the Volunteer Rooms, Irvine.

Ayrshire CND's Arthur West said: "It seems very appropriate to hold an information event for this exciting project in Irvine, as the River Irvine reaches the sea via Irvine Harbour and becomes the Firth of Clyde, which is the mouth of the famous and iconic River Clyde."

The programme for the information event is as follows: 7pm, refreshments and welcome; 7.15pm, showing of short film and presentation by members of Glasgow CND on the background and aims of the Reclaim our Clyde Campaign; 7.45pm, questions and discussion of future campaign actions; 8.10pm, closing remarks.

Anyone interested in this event will be very welcome to attend.

People can just come on the night but it would help the group's planning if attendees you could email Arthur in advance on arthurwest7@hotmail.co.uk or text 07826127759.
