A TREASURED wooden seal statue that went missing from Arran during Storm Isha has been found.

The statue, which sits outside The Corrie Hotel, has been lost and found several times in recent years.

It has previously been found as far away as Troon and Turnberry, but was once again posted missing in the aftermath of Storm Isha.

Clyde the seal was created by local woodcarver Marvin Elliott, and villagers in Corrie were said to be "bereft" at the loss of the statue once again.

A reward of a free night's stay in the The Corrie Hotel had been offered to anyone who can find Clyde and bring him home.

The hotel announced on Tuesday that Clyde had been found on the beach at Lubas Bay on Bute, and was now safely on his way home to Arran.

A spokesperson said: "He’s coming home! Spotted on Lubas Bay Beach, Bute at the weekend.

"We’ve kept quiet until now! Heading back now and hope the ferries get us back!"
