Ferry operators CalMac have revealed they are currently unable to offer ticket sales for the Arran ferry at Troon Harbour due to a technical issue.
The normal Ardrossan to Brodick service has transferred to Troon until Sunday at least after weather conditions made it impossible for the ferry to leave from the North Ayrshire port.
A CalMac spokesperson said: "Due to a technical issue, we are currently unable to offer ticket sales at Troon.
"Our teams are working hard to resolve the problem and we’ll keep you updated about when ticket sales will be available.
"This means that all customers intending to use Troon-Brodick services (including foot passengers) should book online before arriving at Troon port (online sales close two hours prior to sailing departure).
"Alternatively, ticket sales will be available at Ardrossan, from where a bus shuttle will operate to Troon.
"Please do not travel to Troon without a booking as we will be unable to sell you a ticket, even if space on the ferry is available.
"As we’ve already communicated, due to the reduced number of sailings, we cannot guarantee that customers without a booking will be able to travel."
An announcement on whether the ferry will be able to return to Ardrossan on Monday is expected to be announced tomorrow (Saturday).
