Members of Helensburgh Bowling Club are inviting locals who are interested in trying out the game to come along to a taster session next month.

The club will be holding a ‘Try Bowls Day’ on Saturday, May 11 from 10am until 3pm at the green on Sinclair Street.

The event will give locals of all ages a chance to try the sport and chat to members.

A spokesperson for the club said: “This will be a fun session open to every everyone from the age of nine upwards.

“There will be club coaches and members there to welcome the visitors and show them around the club facilities and how to bowl.

“There is no obligation to join but we would welcome anyone who wishes to become a member.”

Participants are asked to bring flat soled shoes as these are needed for access to the greens.

The club has a wide range of membership from those who enter inhouse, interclub, and national competitions, to members who play socially amongst themselves.

The club has members of all abilities and levels of skill, and visitors are welcome to come along.

If the ‘Try Bowls’ date is not convenient, people can contact the club by email helensburghbc@outlook.com and arrange to come along and give to sport a try at their convenience.
