An Irvine woman has admitted brandishing a metal scaffolding pole at a shop worker and resisting arrest by police.

Jennifer Frey, 36, of the town's Broomlands Gate, pleaded guilty to a range of charges when she appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 25.

She also pleaded guilty to approaching a nine-year-old girl at the Premier Store in Broomlands Gate before following her around the shop, telling the girl that she was her mum and saying she was taking the girl on holiday.

Just weeks later, she admitted shouting and swearing at police officers at Crosshouse Hospital on November 22.

Frey also admitted resisting, obstructing or hindering officers, in that she ran past them and tried to escape, flailed her arms and legs, and attempted to prevent them from putting on handcuffs.

She also pleaded guilty to threatening a retail worker at ASDA in Irvine on December 10, by brandishing a metal scaffolding pole and threatening them with violence.

She admitted a separate charge of having an offensive weapon on the same date. Frey also pleaded guilty to a number of bail breaches in relation to not being in her home address between 7pm and 7am each night.

Sentencing on all matters was deferred for the preparation of a psychological report, and an up-to-date criminal justice social work report.

She will also be sentenced on charges of assaulting a shop worker and possessing an offensive weapon at Asda in Ardrossan along with the other charges.

Bail was continued.
