NORTH Ayrshire Council intend to install 'speed bumps' along a busy Saltcoats shorefront street.
Notification has been provided to local residents and the general public with regards to plans to install four "speed tables" along Montgomerie Crescent.
Two of the structures, which will span nearly the entire width of the road, are to be installed on either side of the 'bandstand' on the street.

The tables are to be 7.5cm tall and 5.1m in length. The only traffic calming measures currently on the street are "slow" road markings.

The council are proposing that these new 'speed bumps' are installed as part of carriageway resurfacing works taking place on the street later this year.

The road is particularly busy during summer months due to its proximity to the promenade along Saltcoats beach.
A number of the residents regularly park their cars on the street.
Following the notification with regards to the proposals, the council's roads department are now accepting representations from locals with regards to the installation of the speed tables.
These should be submitted via email to roads@north-ayrshire.gov.uk by Friday, May 17.
