Ardrossan couple Elizabeth and Jackie Templeton recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with friends and family.
Both born and bred in the town, they were married in April 1964 and celebrated their 60th anniversary at Oscars in Saltcoats.
Jackie worked as a chief engineer and spent 25 years working in Saudi Arabia, while Elizabeth worked at various factories in the west of Scotland, including the Linwood car plant.
Elizabeth said: "We had a lovely night. We are both enjoying retirement and we have a plot at the Elm Park allotments, near our home, where we spend a lot of time."
The couple have a son, two daughters and five grandchildren to keep them busy in their retirement.
Congratulations to both of them on the big anniversary from all at the Herald.
