The Ardrossan Highland Games was a huge success in June 2014. Morning clouds gave way to glorious afternoon sunshine and Chieftain Billy Hunter presided over the events at the 35th games.
Around 100 Garnock Valley residents gathered at Glengarnock Station in June 2014 in protest over the site of the new supercampus and swimming pool at Longbar. Parents highlighted concerns over some children facing a three mile walk to the school along a route many regarded as dangerous.
Hayocks Primary head teacher Penelope McCann gave deputy Brian Morgan a soaking at the Stevenston school’s 2014 summer fayre. The event raised a staggering £2,645.86 for the school fund.

Kilwinning’s Lauren Caldwell was crowned Segdoune Queen before large crowds in June 2014 by long serving local businesswoman Aileen Paterson.
The people of West Kilbride braved some foul weather to see King Kieran Thomson and Queen Beth Hart crowned at the village’s summer Gala in 2014. Despite the rain, a great time was had by all.
