THE National Grid has provided a £4,000 grant to the North Ayrshire Foodbank to support its Make a Meal Of It summer holiday programme.
The cash comes from the community grant programme of the National Grid, who are currently working on the site of the former gasworks off Boglemart Street in Stevenston to improve the condition of the land.
Welcoming the donation, Val Crosthwaite from the North Ayrshire Foodbank said: “The funds will support our Make A Meal Of It children’s anti-hunger work.
"This operates every full week of the school holidays and provides a daily activity followed by a nutritional meal.
"The service supports 30 children per day and we would like to thank National Grid for their generous support.”
