A DOCTOR and published author will be coming to Saltcoats later this month to host a workshop on holistic therapy.
Dr Gwenda Kyd will be at the Honeybee Cottage in the town on Sunday, August 25, from 2-4pm.
Dr Kyd, who is originally from the Three Towns, will be discussing Bach flower remedies with all in attendance at the event.
The holistic therapy was developed in the 1930s by Dr Edward Bach who devoted his life to exploring the use of flowers and plants to create a simple, natural and gentle approach to emotional balance.
These remedies look to capture the positive potential of flowers and plants and help those who use them to rediscover their "inner sense of peace and serenity".
The workshop has been organised thanks to shop owner Denise Harvey - a former Ardrossan Academy teacher - who says she is delighted to have Dr Kyd coming to Hamilton Street.
She commented: "As well as being a Bach flower remedy practitioner, Gwenda is also a chemist, science writer and published author based in Cambridge.
"Originally from the Three Towns, Gwenda is keen to bring Bach flower remedies to the area and participants will also have the opportunity to purchase a copy of her book, 'The Plants of Dr Bach - Molecules, remedies and lore'.
"Gwenda has been working with Bach Flower Remedies since 2006. Much like myself, Gwenda is a scientist who has seen the benefit that using holistic therapies alongside traditional medicine can have."
While Dr Kyd added: "Using the Remedies on myself and on friends and family convinced me how effective they could be, as well as how rewarding sharing this with others was."
Those looking to book a space at the workshop can do so by visiting the Honeybee Cottage on Hamilton Street or by visiting honeybee-cottage.com/product/flourish-with-bach-flower-remedies/.
