The Ardrossan to Brodick ferry service is back in action today, after engine repairs were finally completed.
Engine trouble was first reported earlier last week when a couple of sailings had to be cancelled due to an issue with the MV Isle of Arran's gearbox cooler.
Things got worse by Friday, August when the gearbox cooler has to be removed and taken to the mainland for repairs. CalMac were still waiting for the replacement parts to arrive and repairs to be carried out yesterday (Tuesday).
Some extra sailings were provided by the MV Alfred, which now runs on the Troon to Brodick route and the Claonig to Lochranza service to Argyll.
However the ferry company have now revealed that services between Ardrossan and Arran had returned in full today, with a normal service running.
