A PROMINENT car park which sits adjacent to Saltcoats train station has been listed for sale.
The facility on Vernon Street, located on the town centre side of the railway bridge, has recently come on to the market with an asking price of offers over £175,000.
With space for 73 vehicles, at present, the car park is operated as a pay and display facility by Euro Parks.
A barrier was installed at the facility earlier this year following complaints that encampments of travellers were present at the site.
Despite its current operation, estate agents Shepherd Commercial have listed the town centre site as a "development site".
They say that the land, which spans over half an acre, could be open to a change of use subject to planning permission being granted.
In their listing, Shepherd describe the car park location as lying within an established retail location.
They add that the full extent of the boundary of the area would be established during any legal due diligence prior to completion of sale.
The full property listing is available online and can be viewed at shepherd.co.uk/property/vernon-street-saltcoats/.
