MOVING tributes have been paid following the death of a much loved member of the North Ayrshire Cancer Care team.
Clive Jay, a former vice chairman and volunteer driver with the charity, died earlier this month after a battle with lung cancer and cystic fibrosis.
He was at the forefront of much of the organisation's work for years.
The group's chair, David Haining, said on a Facebook post: "It is with much sadness that I announce the passing of Clive Jay, our former vice chairman and volunteer driver.
"Clive had called into Muirside Lodge in June to catch up with some of his former colleagues, including myself, and to let us know his prognosis.
"It is a tribute to him that he carried this with such fortitude."
He added: "For many of us, our last memory of Clive will be of him taking his place on stage with the wonderful Dave Beatson Big Band back in March, at a fund-raiser for North Ayrshire Cancer Care which Clive himself had been instrumental in arranging.
"Our thoughts are with his wife Angie and all his family."
