POLICE are investigating after an alleged assault and dog theft in Dalry.
The incident is reported to have taken place in the St Margaret Avenue area of the town on Wednesday, October 9.
Officers state that at around 1.30pm that day a man was assaulted by another male.
It is claimed that the man said to have committed the alleged offence then stole a dog belonging to the other male.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a 52-year-old man having been assaulted by another man in St Margaret Avenue, Dalry around 1.30pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. His dog was also stolen by the culprit at this time.
"Police enquiries are continuing."
