POLICE, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service staff and Trading Standards officers have been visiting fireworks retailers across Ayrshire ahead of Bonfire Night.
Required safety standards were checked for compliance - including type, weight, storage, age verification and fire exits.
The checks form part of the nationwide community safety response in the lead up to the fireworks festivities.
Known as Operation Moonbeam, it involves the tri-services of SFRS, NHS Scotland and Police Scotland - as well as partners like Trading Standards Scotland.
A police spokesperson said: "A number of specially trained officers across Scotland support local officers during the busy period to prevent and respond to reports of criminality.
"Like our partners at SFRS, our advice is always to attend an organised public firework display. It's safer and better for the environment.
"If you believe someone is using fireworks illegally, report this to Police Scotland Ayrshire on 101. You can also contact Crimestoppers Scotland if you want to report a crime anonymously."
