A KIND-HEARTED Kilwinning fundraiser is looking to put a smile on the faces of those who need it most this Christmas.

Michael Kirkum Jnr is on the lookout for festive donations to support his annual appeal in support of the Crosshouse Children's Fund.

This will be the 16th year that the Kirkum family has supported the charity with Michael taking over last year after his father, Michael Snr, stepped aside.

Over the coming weeks, the dedicated fundraiser will be collecting donations of festive gifts which will then be donated to youngsters spending the Christmas period in hospital.

Those looking to support the cause can drop off festive treats at The Corner House in Kilwinning or contact Michael Jnr directly.

The fundraiser is hoping for another positive response after £2,500 of toys and more than 1,000 selection boxes were handed over in 2025.

He said: “Each year the appeal sets out to help as many local children who spend the festive period separated from their families while attending Crosshouse children's ward.

“The gifts and sweets you donate put a smile on their faces, keeping a touch of normality in their lives.

“The appeal also helps as many local community groups who are affected by the price increases and cut backs to reach more children who might not receive a gift at Christmas.

“As a supporter it's you that makes this possible without you all this would not be possible so please donate what you can.”

Donations will be collected until Friday, December 4.
