GARNOCK travelled to Dunblane to take on McLaren Rugby in their latest quest for league points.
The Valley squad comprised (Nos. 1-21) of John Miller, Jamie Holmes, Fraser Miller, Johnny Watson, Luke Wynn, Graeme Reid, Stuart Wilson, Grant Ruxton, Paul Johnson, Rory Walker, Cammy Perry, Chris Neill, Danny Irvine, Jordan Taggart, Jamie McNab, Phil Cullen, Ally Anderson, Mark Thompson, Ian Waterson, Davy McNair and Robbie Nisbet.
McLaren kicked off in glorious sunshine in front of a considerable crowd and were immediately repulsed when Walker punted from his own 22 metre line to McLaren’s 10 metre line despite a strongish cross-pitch wind.
Penalties were exchanged in the first three minutes but all missed. Both sides looked as if they wanted to play running rugby with Garnock looking the more penetrative.
