NORTH Ayrshire athletes have been busy again this week with cross country season coming to a close.
The KA schools cross country saw great success for our junior athletes with Cameron Patton (P5 boys), Heather Scott (P7 girls) and Phoebe Lewis (1st Year girls) all winning overall gold over the season. Also Emma Donachy (P6 girls) and Carla Murray (P7 girls) achieved overall bronze and Gabriella Carrino and Lara Diamond competed consistently across all races.
This success was echoed as two members of the development squad – Phoebe Lewis and Lara Diamond – competed in the Scottish Schools Cross Country championships at Irvine Beach Park.
With more than 230 first year girls competing both girls did well to finish within the first 150 finishers; Phoebe coming 99th and Lara 143rd. Both girls represented themselves and the club extremely well and this result will be a good motivator into the summer season.
The club meet on Mondays and Thursdays, from 6pm until 7pm. All new members are welcome to go along.
