MAJOR success was celebrated by Kilwinning amateur side Dirrans Athletic in a top tournament on Friday night.
They won the annual Donnie McManus KSC Community Shield for the third year running at Kilwinning Sports Club.
The Kilwinning side defeated Ardeer West Recreation 2-1 in a closely contested final of the event, which is sponsored by the Irvine Times and Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald.
John Pirie scored both goals for Dirrans, who had Andrew Postlethwaite sent off late on.
Dougie Ellis bagged the consolation goal for the Stevenston team.
In the third-placed playoff, West Kilbride AFC overcame Kilbirnie Ammies courtesy of a Greig McVeigh penalty and a 20-yard strike from Jay Little.
The final group games were played last Wednesday. Results: Dirrans 5 Houston 0, Beith 1 Kilbirnie 0, West Kilbride 3 Clark Drive 1, Ardrossan 1 Ardeer West Rec 3.
