.KFA Ladies 4

Queen of the South

THE Ladies team completed their fixtures for the first half of the season against Queen of the South at Putyan Park in Dalry.

They fell behind in the first half but battled back to lead 2-1 at the break with goals from Caitlin Tomlinson and Shannyn Henderson.

Queens started the second half brighter and got their reward as they scored two goals in a short space of time to regain the lead.

But they didn't let the heads go down and battled back to claim all three points with Nicole Wilson getting on the scoresheet and Caitlin adding a further goal.

Shaun Black and David Gaw would like to thank each player for their effort and commitment for the first half of the season.

Also a big thanks to all the girls in our fantastic 17s squad that have stepped in and helped on numerous occasions.

U13 League Cup Last 16

QOS 1

KFA 3

The U13s made the long trip south to play QOS.

The game had a real cup game feel to it with both teams set up well and disciplined.

After a slow start from kilwinning girls they took the lead in 21 minutes with a goal through Aimee. QOS responded quickly and three minutes later scored to get back into the game.

After a good positive half-time team talk the girls started getting the passing move working which is what we're used to seeing but with the game looking to go into extra time with 6min to go Allana fired in a dangerous free kick from the halfway line for Leah to be in the right place to make it 2-1 .

Aimee got her second late on with a good run down the right cutting into the box and slotting home.

really good game against a good Queens team with victory taking them into the quarter-finals.

They thank QOS for a great game.

KFA Lions 2011s 2011 squads played their last games at the fun fours before the fixtures stop for the summer. However training continues right through the summer holidays.

At the end of the games they had their medal presentation arranged as a surprise for the players. Well done to Connor and his team for achieving a fantastic first half of the season and ensuring it was business as usual since the formation of KFA in February.

Following on from the 2011 team, our superstars of KFA Spartans 2012s wrapped up their games in excellent fashion today in the sun.

Well done to all the players and parents for a great first half of the season and not forgetting their coaches Wullie and Scott.

After their matches they also had a presentation and collected medals for an excellent first half of the season.
