North Ayrshire Wild v Dundee Tigers

WILD on Saturday returned home for their final home match of the year at Auchenharvie Ice Rink, following a dismal performance against Dundee Comets the previous weekend.

They were determined to put on a better show for the fans.

In the first period that definitely happened as the Wild came out on fire, following the structure and systems given to them by the coaches before the game, with two short-handed goals on the same penalty, two powerplay goals and three more at even strength to go in 7-0 up at the first interval.

Effectively the game was put to bed already, but Tigers came out battling in the second and made it much tougher for the Wild, who won the period 2-1 to go in 9-1 at the second break.

The third period saw both teams take a lot of unnecessary penalties that interrupted the flow of the game, and saw the Tigers battle hard for every puck and make the scoreline more respectable, winning it 4-2, making the final score 11-5 for Wild.

Man of the Match was club captain Callum Siebenaler.

There was improvement from last time, but Wild coaches say they still need to work on their discipline and stick to the game plan before Saturday's visit to Paisley Pirates.
