THIS was the second home game for the Stars in the last couple of weeks and the hosts started well with two goal inside three minutes.

Solway were on the back foot for most of the first period which closed with the Stars leading 3-0.

The second period proved much closer, with the Solway netminder proving to be difficult to beat.

In the final period, Stars picked up the pace again with an onslaught of goals against a seemingly frustrated Solway side. The game was fast-paced and proved to be a solid performance from the home team.

The final score was a comfortable 7-1 win for the Stars. Goals: Dylan Murray 6, Jacob Woods 1 (first goal playing for the Stars). Man of the Match was Dylan Murray.


IN their first game of the year, Predators were keen to make it a home win.

With the rink buzzing from the Stars win and a few of the boys back on ice again, it was to be a great game and Predators came out hard and fast and took full advantage of Solway playing short-handed with a player in the penalty box. They scored two quick powerplay goals, swiftly followed by another two before the end of the period, which finished with Predators leading 4-0.

The second period started just as it had left off, with Predators scoring another three goals inside four minutes, making it 7 -0. Predators then bagged another goal. It looked like Solway had given up, however they staged a comeback which saw them win that period and bag three goals as it ended 8-3.

It was a great game and Predators were the more disciplined and hungrier team.
